PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gas leakage from a butting section of combustion plates without using spring members for pressing the combustion plates to an inner side in the arrangement direction, in a plate type burner which includes a burner body 1 and the plurality of combustion plates 2 mounted in a state of being arranged on an opened face 1a of the burner body, and in which a flange section 3 surrounding the opening face is formed on a top face of the burner body, outer edges of the combustion plates are placed on the flange section through packings 4, and outer edges of the combustion plates are pressed downward by pressing plates 5. SOLUTION: A pressing face 2b inclined downward toward an outer part is formed on a top face of an outer edge of each combustion plate 2, and an inclined contact section 5b kept into face-contact with the pressing face 2b of each combustion plate 2 is formed on a pressing plate 5.
