PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating machine oil which has excellent compatibility and solubility with refrigerant R32, can maintain a viscosity without damaging lubricity, and excels in stability, lubricity, electrical insulating properties and the like. SOLUTION: The refrigerating machine oil for refrigerant R32 includes, as a base oil, an ester which is obtained by further esterifying an ester intermediate obtained by the reaction of trimethylolpropane and/or neopentyl glycol and a 2-12C dibasic acid with a 1-12C monovalent alcohol or a 2-12C monovalent fatty acid and has an acid value of 0.1 mgKOH/g or less and the kinematic viscosity at 100°C of the refrigerating machine oil is 2-30 mm<SP>2</SP>/s.
