PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for downloading update software for a strong hierarchy receiver which does not require a communication means as an essential requirement. SOLUTION: In a step S1, a strong hierarchy SDTT is received. In a step S2, manufacturer and model ID information are acquired. In a step S3, decision is made on whether or not the receiver is a target receiver, and on the decision of the target receiver, ina step S4, text information including the position information of a service site is acquired. In a step S5, software update is required, and a user operation is urged to determine whether a nearby service station should be displayed (step a S6). In a step S7, in the case that the display should be performed, a process proceeds to a step S9, so as to initiate a map application. In a step S10, by the initiation of a GPS, the present position information of the strong hierarchy receiver is acquired. In a step S11, the nearby service station of the strong hierarchy receiver is searched for.
