PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an animal detection system which can detect the direction of an animal without bearing an equipment and the like when the animal invades in an approximately certain range. SOLUTION: The animal detection system has a non-directional antenna 21 and a directional antenna 22 for receiving electric waves transmitted from a transmitter 1 to be attached to the animal, wherein the directional antenna 22 is in a non-operated state when the non-directional antenna 21 does not receive an electric wave from the transmitter 1, while the directional antenna 22 is switched into an operated state when the non-directional antenna 21 receives the electric wave, whereby the direction of the transmitter 1 (animal) to the directional antenna 22 can be detected on the basis of the receiving information of the directional antenna 22.
