PLEDGET-HANDLING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING HEMOSTATIC MATERIAL TO BLOOD VESSEL PUNCTURE SITE BY FLUID PRESSURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for delivering a hemostatic material to a blood vessel puncture site by fluid pressure.

SOLUTION: The system allows the hemostatic material to be delivered through an introducer sheath already in place within a tissue tract. This system includes a control tip which is insertable through the introducer sheath and the hemostatic material is injected into the introducer sheath and delivered to the blood vessel puncture site. Accordingly, this system accurately locates the puncture site in the blood vessel wall and properly places a hemostasis plug over the puncture site.
