<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize light in a projector by preventing reflection from a color wheel of blue light from a blue light source. <P>SOLUTION: In a color wheel body 24, periodic dielectric layers A, B (the total number of units is X), and C (the total number of units is Y) formed by repeatedly laminating a dielectric thin film composed of a low-refractive index layer 21 and a high-refractive index layer 22 as a unit are provided on both sides of a phosphor layer 23. With respect to blue light incident on the periodic dielectric layer A, a multiple interference effect is enhanced and light is concentrated on the phosphor layer 23, and the multiple interference effect of green light emitted from the phosphor layer 23 is reduced by the periodic dielectric layer B, and the light is reflected by the periodic dielectric layer C and is emitted through a reverse route.
