<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device effectively preventing a developer from entering a shaft sealing part, and thereby to obtain good image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a conveying screw that stirs and conveys the developer containing toner and magnetic carrier; a housing that surrounds the conveying member; and a bearing part 76 of the rotating shaft of the conveying screw. The conveying screw is configured to convey the developer in a direction toward the bearing part, and the bearing part comprises a rolling bearing and the shaft sealing part. The shaft sealing part has: a first G seal 79a located on the conveying screw side; and a second G seal 79b located on the bearing side; wherein a gap between both G seals is filled with grease, and a gap between the bearing and the second G seal is also filled with grease. The developing device for the image forming apparatus includes a disc-like flange on the conveying screw shaft between the conveying screw and the bearing part. The flange is provided so that the screw shaft passes through the center of the flange. A sheet-like magnet is provided on the surface perpendicular to the screw shaft direction of the flange. When the screw area between the flange and the bearing part is regarded as a sealing screw part, the pitch of the sealing screw part is made to be narrow than the pitch of the screw other than the sealing screw part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
