<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device forming a liquid crystal domain and suppressing the phenomenon of generating spots around a black matrix, and also to provide a method of manufacturing it. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device includes processes of: preparing a half tone mask 500 including first and second transmission parts 510 and 520 having different light transmittances and providing the half tone mask so that the first transmission part having relatively high light transmittance is positioned in a pixel region and the second transmission part having relatively low light transmittance is positioned in a non-pixel region covered by a black matrix, respectively; and exposing the pixel region and the non-pixel region with different light quantities through the half tone mask and forming a liquid crystal layer. Thus, the phenomenon of generating spots around the black matrix by the increase of gas discharge due to excessive exposure is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
