<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle electric instrument that can prevent a vehicle from starting toward a direction different from a will of a driver due to forgetting of an operation and a state of a gear shift lever. <P>SOLUTION: Under a condition in which a change from a driving state to a stop state is detected, and a shift position is detected to be within a D range, an audio warning "moving forward" is given. Under a condition in which a change from a driving state to a stop state is detected, and the shift position is detected to be within an R range, the audio warning "going backward" is given.
