<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the occurrence of an uncontrollable abnormality in an inrush current suppressing means for suppressing an inrush current to a starter motor. <P>SOLUTION: An idle stop vehicle includes a relay 27 in an energizing path from a battery 15 to a motor 17 of a starter 13, which is alternatively driven between a contact-side state, in which contacts short-circuit, and a resistor-side state, in which the contacts are opened and a resistor 27d is serially inserted into the energizing path. At an engine restart operation from an idle stop, an ECU 11 controlling the starter 13 brings the relay 27 into the resistor-side state and starts energization to the motor 17, thereby suppressing the inrush current. Moreover, the ECU 11 detects a contact-side state fixation abnormality of the relay 27 based on a battery voltage VB at the time when the ECU drives the relay 27 into the resistor-side state and energizes the motor 17, and detects a resistor-side state fixation abnormality of the relay 27 based on the battery voltage VB at the time when the ECU drives the relay 27 into the contact-side state and energizes the motor 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
