<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can suppress deterioration of quality of a toner image transferred to a printing medium. <P>SOLUTION: A photoreceptor drum 29 and a transfer roller 34 convey paper P. A fixing roller pair 16a disposed on the downstream side of the photoreceptor drum 29 and the transfer roller 34 in the paper P conveyance direction conveys the paper P. A torque sensor 22 detects a driving torque of the fixing roller pair 16a. A control part 40 controls a conveying speed of the fixing roller pair 16a so that the driving torque detected by the torque sensor 22 falls between the upper limit and the lower limit.
