<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recyclable ink jet recording medium having suitability for dye ink and pigment ink, high glossiness comparable with silver halide photography, extremely excellent resistance against damage on the surface of a gloss developing layer, and an image quality and uniform glossiness comparable with those of an ink jet recording medium produced using a printing paper base material or a film base material. <P>SOLUTION: In this glossy paper for ink jet recording, one or more ink receiving layers are provided on a paper base material, and the gloss developing layer is provided on the uppermost surface layer of the ink receiving layers by a cast coating method. The gloss developing layer includes: gas phase method silica having 200-400 m<SP>2</SP>/g of a BET specific surface area as a pigment; silanol modified polyvinyl alcohol and polyvinyl alcohol having 78-95 mol% of a saponification degree as a binder; and a zirconium compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
