<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute an index which facilitates a decision about the extent of arteriosclerosis. <P>SOLUTION: The CPU 40 of a measuring instrument 1C detects the waveform of a pulse wave from an internal pressure change in an air bag 13B by a detection section 401, and decides about the mixing of noise into the waveform in a noise decision section 405. An index computation section 406 computes PWV and AI by using the waveform which is found free from noise. A factor computation section 408 computes a weighting factor corresponding to each of PWV and AI according to the age of a person to be measured. The index computation section 406 computes the index of the extent of arteriosclerosis by multiplying each of PWV and AI by the weighting factors and then adding them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
