摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode for a fuel cell by which a particle diameter increase of a catalyst particle and falling are suppressed by preventing dissolution and dissipation of a noble metal catalyst particle under a strong acid condition so as to manufacture an electrode that can maintain power generation characteristics over a long term. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an electrode for a fuel cell includes: a process for preparing platinum elution suppressing material obtained by mixing a compound having an alkyl sulfonic acid group and a group expressed by a formula (R<SP>1</SP>O)<SB>3</SB>Si- (in the formula, R<SP>1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group), and a solvent; a process for preparing a slurry by mixing catalyst powder having a catalyst particle at least on a surface and the platinum elution suppressing material; and a process for forming a platinum elution suppressing layer formed of a polymer of the platinum elution suppressing material on the surface of the catalyst powder and obtaining the electrode for a fuel cell by polymerization reaction of the platinum elusion suppressing material in the slurry through a drying process under reduced pressure and a heating and drying process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
