PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the positions of the images of the front and back sides when the timing of image formation start after a planar recording medium reaches an image forming position delays on the downstream side compared to an image forming apparatus on the upstream side because the recording medium is required to be transported in advance to start image formation in an image forming apparatus on the downstream side.

SOLUTION: During a period of registration processing performed in the image forming apparatus 14 arranged on the downstream side of a multiplying printing system after continuous paper P reaches the image forming apparatus 14, the image forming apparatus 12 on the upstream side sends out the continuous paper P without performing image formation on one side. Thereby, the continuous paper P with images formed on one side is prevented from reaching the image forming apparatus 14 during the registration processing.
