PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which reduces density unevenness while achieving the high speed and high density of drawing, and eliminates an influence of thermal crosstalk or the like thereby providing a high-quality image. SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes a light source 16 having a plurality of light emitting points 17 which are two-dimensionally arrayed on a plane. Beams emitted from the light emitting points 17 are simultaneously polarized by a polygon mirror, and image-formed and scanned on a photoreceptor. The plurality of light emitting points 17 are arrayed on lattice points of a parallelogram having M×N (M and N are integers of 6 or larger) lattice points, and not arranged on (M-4)×(N-4) lattice points located in the center.
