METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTI-HOMING CHANNEL SELECTION OF STREAM CONTROL TRANSMISSION PROTOCOL

The present invention discloses a method for multi-homing channel selection of Stream Control Transmission Protocol(SCTP). The method includes the following steps: starting quality evaluation of channels; calculating the quality evaluation value of each channel; comparing the quality evaluation value of each channel; and selecting the channel with the greatest quality evaluation value to transmit data packets. The present invention also discloses an apparatus for multi-homing channel selection of SCTP. By adopting the method and the apparatus, a network selects the channel with the greatest quality evaluation value to transmit data packets. As long as channel faults affect the transmission efficiency, other channel with greater quality is selected for transmission, thus can improving the capability of the network of dealing with all kinds of channel faults, and further improving the data transmission speed and quality.
