<p>The method involves preventing switch-on of an electric component after reversing of polarity of the component is carried out and documented by a reverse polarity detection device (1). Voltage values and/or time duration and/or time point of the reverse polarity are documented in addition to the reverse polarity. The detection device is designed as a monitoring computer, and the detected reverse polarity and/or the voltage values and/or the time duration and/or the time point are stored in a memory for documentation. An independent claim is also included for a reverse polarity detection device for detecting reverse polarity of an electric component.</p> |
