The device (1) selects functions i.e. function symbols (6), of operating devices (5) of a motor car, and changes graphic representation of the functions in dependence of the selected operating devices. The graphic representation contains selectable functions independent of the selection of the operating device. The functions are positioned at the circle or annular arrangement such that two selectable functions are provided on height of a plane, where transfer between the representations are simulated, and an arcuate graphic element is represented by a selection list of the operating devices.
