PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF SOLID FUEL FOR USE IN SINTERING, SOLID FUEL FOR USE IN SINTERING, AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING SINTERED ORE USING SAME

Disclosed is a process for the production of a solid fuel for use in sintering, which comprises carbonizing coal by heating at 300 to 1150°C in a rotary kiln to produce char usable as a solid fuel for use in sintering. In the process, a fuel and air are fed into the rotary kiln from the product-discharge side, with the quantity of the air falling within a range of 90 to 110% of the sum total of the theoretical quantity of combustion air that is necessary for the combustion of the fuel and the theoretical quantity of combustion air that is necessary for the combustion of dust particles which are generated from the coal and which have particle diameters of less than 250µm. Thus, the coal is carbonized while the dust particles are removed by combustion in the rotary kiln.
