<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing ethanol, which simply determines right and wrong of ethanol fermentation on the base of concentration of carbon dioxide generated in a fermentation tank for continuously performing ethanol fermentation. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing ethanol, which supplies a sugar solution formed from a biomass raw material to the fermentation tank 11 and continuously performing ethanol fermentation in the fermentation tank 11 and includes the first step for obtaining a disagreement degree between an observed value of concentration of carbon dioxide generated in ethanol fermentation and a theoretically obtained estimated value of concentration of carbon dioxide on the base of an observed value of sugar concentration of sugar solution and the second step for determining that the state of the ethanol fermentation is wrong when the disagreement degree exceeds a predetermined permissible value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
