PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearing aid that allows a person wearing the hearing aid to hardly feel discomfort caused by mastication. SOLUTION: A hearing aid 1 has: a microphone 110 for converting an input sound into a sound signal; a hearing aid signal processing unit 120 for amplifying or compressing the sound signal from the microphone with a predetermined gain; a speaker 190 for converting the sound signal from the hearing aid signal processing unit into an output sound; a first mastication detecting electrode 11 and a second mastication detecting electrode 12 which are disposed at positions in contact with the skins near ears when a hearing aid wearing person wears the hearing aid; a potential difference measuring unit 350 for measuring a potential difference signal between the first mastication detecting electrode and the second mastication detecting electrode; and a masticating action estimating unit 300 for estimating whether the person wearing the hearing aid is masticating, from temporal fluctuation results of the potential difference signal measured by the potential difference measuring unit. When the masticating action estimating unit estimates that the person wearing the hearing aid is masticating, mastication discomfort suppressing processing is performed on the sound signal.
