PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug device capable of having a plug pulled out of a receptacle, without a user having to move to the location of the receptacle. SOLUTION: The plug device is provided with a first housing equipped with a terminal to be engaged with the receptacle; a second housing to which a cord electrically connected to the terminal is fixed, and fitted in free relative movement to the first housing; and a release mechanism, operating when a load more than a given level is added to the cord with the terminal in a state engaged with the receptacle, for removing the terminal by pushing away and separating the receptacle.
