PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image removing device which can completely remove an image forming substance on a recorded material, has an excellent maintainability, and can be used for long term. SOLUTION: The image forming substance removing device of the recorded material at least includes: a means (A) of heating the image forming substance formed on the recorded material where an image is formed; a means (B) of bringing a face on which the image of the recorded material is recorded into contact with a peeling member; a means (C) of pressurizing the peeling material and the recorded material, which are in contact with each other; and a means (D) of separating the recorded material and the peeling member, which are in contact with each other after pressurization, and transferring the image forming substance on the recorded material to the peeling member. Plural means (B), (C) and (D) are provided. On the upstream side, a peeling member whose surface layer being in contact with the recorded material shows no plasticity at the temperature of the pressurization, and on the downstream side, a web-like and sheet-like peeling member, in which multiple surfaces can be used and whose surface layer being in contact with the recording material shows the plasticity at the temperature of the pressurization, is used. Also, this image forming substance removing device of the recorded material has a characteristic that on the peeling member whose surface layer on the downstream side shows the plasticity at the temperature of the pressurization is not provided with a cleaning means for removing the image forming substance transferred from the recorded material.
