PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical alignment film capable of suppressing the generation of alignment defects of a polymarizable liquid crystal compound and obtaining an optical anisotropic layer indicating excellent solvent resistance characteristics for not lowering alignment regulation force even when exposed to a solvent, a method of manufacturing the alignment film, and to provide an optical film including the optical alignment film and the optical anisotropic layer. SOLUTION: For the optical alignment film, a polymer graft thin film is obtained by fixing a polymer including a radical polymerizable group and an ionic group on a substrate through the radical polymerizable group, the polymer graft thin film is brought into contact with an azobenzene derivative having a functional group to interact with the ionic group, the azobenzene derivative is fixed to the polymer graft thin film, and optical alignment processing is executed by light irradiation.
