PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stationary guide for a transmission device, which easily sets a normal travel locus of a transmission chain to suppress noise caused from contact with a guide sidewall due to a deviation in the width direction of a chain while completely avoiding an erroneously assembled state in which the chain entry side and the chain exit side are erroneously arranged and fitted in reverse directions in carrying out assembly work to the engine block wall side. SOLUTION: The fixed guide for the transmission device includes a travel rail part 110 regulating the travel of a timing chain C, and a rail support part 120 supporting the travel rail part 110 from below over the longitudinal direction of the guide. Two assembling hole parts 121, 122 disposed at the rail support part 120 are fitted to two assembling pins P projected from the engine block wall B, respectively to assemble the rail support part 120 to the engine block wall B. The assembling hole part 121 of the rail support part 120 has a cover-like stop wall part 123 preventing erroneous assembly of arranging the two assembling hole parts 121, 122 reversely to each other.
