PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of attaching and detaching a preform to and from a support body, which achieves easy attachment and detachment without damaging various materials and in-service members and can be applied even to a large preform. SOLUTION: An upper end portion 20 of the preform 2 and the support body 3 are respectively provided with a first penetration hole 20a and a second penetration hole 30a for allowing a connection pin 11 connecting these to be inserted therethrough. In the preform attachment step of attaching the preform 2 to the support body 3 in a manner such that the connection pin 11 is inserted through the penetration holes of the preform 2 and the support body 3 and the preform 2 is hung on the connection pin 11, the connection pin 11 is disposed to be rotatable about the insertion axis due to an action of a moment based on gravity when the state in which the preform 2 is hung thereon is released. In the preform detachment step of detaching the preform 2 from the support body 3, the connection pin 11 is taken out from the penetration holes after the rotation of the connection pin 11.
