PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an idling operation time at proper timing and improve fuel economy. SOLUTION: When a stop starting condition is met, based on route probability and a first stop effect coefficient for every travel route pattern in the past, a second stop effect coefficient showing the degree of engine stop effect as the whole travel route patters in the past is calculated, and stopping of an engine is determined when the second stop effect coefficient has a predetermined threshold value or more. Therefore, in a travel route with a high-frequency of travel such as a commutation route, since there is a high possibility that a travel route pattern almost the same with the present travel route pattern is stored as a past travel pattern along with fuel profit and loss, determination as to whether or not the engine is to be stopped is made with the second stop effect coefficient based on the route probability and the first stop effect coefficient for every travel route pattern in the past. Accordingly, an idling operation time can be reduced at proper timing and the fuel economy can be improved without using an expensive device such as a GPS device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
