PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasoline composition having good oxidation stability while keeping high octane number. SOLUTION: The gasoline composition has a sulfur content of≤10 mass ppm, a diene number of≤0.3 mg/100 g, a diene compound content of <0.01 vol.%, a cyclopentene content of <1.5 vol.%, an olefin content of 10-30 vol.%, a research octane number of 95-102 and a Reid vapor pressure of 50-90 kPa. Preferably, the gasoline composition has an oxidation stability index X defined by X=OL1×1.7+OL2×0.3+OL3 of <1.5, wherein OL1 is 1-methylcyclopentene content (vol.%), OL2 is 2-methyl-2-butene content (vol.%) and OL3 is cyclopentene content (vol.%).
