PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof material and a method for repairing a waterproof layer, which use the waterproof material excelling in stain resistance and weatherability, have a high adhesive property and dispense with a primer and a top-coat. SOLUTION: The waterproof material contains a core shell type emulsion whose Tg (glass transition temperature) is -40°C to -20°C, and an extender pigment with an oil absorption of 10-40 mg/100 g. The waterproof material preferably contains 40-70 mass% of the emulsion and 10-40 mass% of the extender pigment. The average grain size of the extender pigment is preferably 2-20μm. The method for repairing the waterproof layer is carried out with the execution of the waterproof material. The waterproof layer preferably includes a vinyl chloride sheet, FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic), a urethane coated film waterproof material or a synthetic rubber sheet.
