PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass failure detector of low electric power consumption and long battery life, detecting precisely glass failure by a single detection principle using only a vibration sensor. SOLUTION: This glass failure detector 1 has: a vibration detecting means 2 for detecting vibration of glass, to be converted electrically to serve as an output signal; a low-pass circuit 3 for extracting a signal of a low-pass frequency component from the output signal; and a high-pass circuit 4 for extracting a signal of a high-pass frequency component from the output signal, and an output part 7 outputs an alarm, when a determination part 6 determines that the signal extracted by the high-pass circuit 4 is a prescribed intensity or more within the second prescribed time, after the first prescribed time lapses, from the time when the low-pass circuit extracts the signal of prescribed intensity or more.
