A shell (7) of a modular jack (3) comprises soldering terminal sections (7a) to be connected to a substrate (2). The soldering terminal sections (7a) comprise first soldering terminal sections (9g) and second soldering terminal sections (9h). The first soldering terminal sections (9g) are formed in extension from first side-wall sections (9c), which are folded back from a front face (6a) of a housing (6) towards a right side-face (6e) and a left side-face (6f) thereof, towards the substrate (2) side. The second soldering terminal sections (9h) are formed in extension from second side-wall sections (9d) towards the substrate (2) side, wherein said second side-wall sections (9d) are folded back from an upper wall section (9b), which in turn is folded back from the front face (6a) of the housing (6) towards an upper face (6c) thereof, towards the right side-face (6e) and the left side-face (6f) of the housing (6). The right side-face (6e) and the left side-face (6f) of the housing (6) are thereby covered by the first side-wall sections (9c) and the second side-wall sections (9d).
