PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing microorganisms in a purifying system, capable of efficiently fixing microorganisms to a filling material in a biological desulfurization tank and reducing water consumption. SOLUTION: There is provided the method for fixing microorganisms in the purifying system 2 provided with the biological desulfurization tank 11 packed with a filling material to fix the microorganisms, a water feeding pipe 35 connected with an upper part of the biological desulfurization tank 11 and spraying treating water containing the microorganisms, a feed-water valve 36 to open or close the water feeding pipe 35, a drain pipe 37 connected to a bottom part of the biological desulfurization tank 11 and draining the treating water in the biological desulfurization tank 11, a drain valve 38 to open or close the drain pipe 37, and a controller 41 to control the opening and closure of the feed water valve 36 and the drain valve 38. The controller 41 closes the drain valve 38 for a certain time period to reserve and statically keep the treating water containing the microorganisms to a height not lower than the upper face of the filling material in the biological desulfurization tank 11.
