<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing paper for newspaper which improves printing characteristics by improving a filler-fixing property among pulp fibers, also is capable of reducing raw material cost by improving the yield of the filler and improving the operation efficiency of a machine by reducing paper powder omission. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing the paper for the newspaper having a raw material slurry preparation step, and a papermaking step of papermaking the paper for the newspaper by using raw material slurry obtained by the raw material slurry preparation step, the raw material slurry preparation step has (1) a filler-adding step of adding the filler to pulp slurry containing raw material pulp, and (2) a filler yield-improving step of simultaneously adding a coagulant and a flocculant into the pulp slurry after the step of adding the filler, and the filler contains regenerated particles obtained by using papermaking sludge as a main raw material.
