PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve not only the shortening of the heating time of the liquid in a washing tank but also the shortening of operation time thereby by effectively controlling both heaters within the electric capacity of equipment even if a preheating tank is provided separate from the washing tank and a heater is provided even to the preheating tank separate from the heater of the washing tank. SOLUTION: This washing apparatus 1 is constituted so as to immerse an article 2 to be washed in the liquid stored in the washing tank 3 to wash the same and a washing tank heating means 7 is an electric heater 40 for heating the liquid in the washing tank 3. The preheating tank 4 having capacity smaller than that of the washing tank 3 is provided separate from the washing tank 3. A preheating tank heating means 14 is an electric heater 62 for heating the liquid in the preheating tank 4 and operated during the stop of the washing tank heating means 7 to heat the liquid for replacing the liquid in the washing tank 3.
