PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device capable of narrowing a frame while securing a sufficient moisture-proof property to an electrophoretic element, an electronic device electrooptical device, a method of driving the electrooptical device, and an electronic device. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device includes: the electrophoretic element constituted by clamping an electrophoretic layer 31 between a first substrate 14 and a second substrate 15; a first protective film 12 arranged on the surface of the first substrate at the opposite side of the electrophoretic layer; a pair of cover sheets disposed at the outer side of the first substrate and the second substrate; a core sheet disposed between the pair of cover sheets to surround the periphery of the electrophoretic element; and a sealing part constituted by superimposing at least the first protective film 12, the core sheet and one cover sheet in a substrate surface direction, and sticking them with one another.
