PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high temperature sliding test device which accurately evaluates sliding characteristic between a steel sheet and a press die in a hot press method of the steel sheet. SOLUTION: In order to evaluate the sliding characteristic between the steel sheet and the press die in the hot press method of the steel sheet, the high temperature sliding test device 1 includes: a heating furnace 11 in which a predetermined length part 10b (sliding characteristic evaluating part) of the rear end of a band-shaped test piece 10 is inserted and heated up to≥800°C; a pair of upper and lower sliding dies 14 which clip the test piece 10 from above and below and cause the test piece 10 to slide; and a pulling-out cylinder 15 which grips the top 10a of the test piece 10 by a chuck 15a and pulls out test piece 10 in a longitudinal direction.
