PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asbestos melting apparatus detoxifying asbestos by highly efficiently and uniformly heating the asbestos to a vitrification temperature and melting it. SOLUTION: The asbestos melting apparatus include a melting furnace 1 melting the waste asbestos. The melting furnace 1 includes upper and lower burners 3a, 3b heating the waste asbestos and coke to the vitrification temperature, the upper and lower burners 3a, 3b have a plurality of nozzles radially arranged around a furnace axis on a furnace wall of the melting furnace 1.
