PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping device for a railroad vehicle capable of improving comfortableness in the vehicle by preventing excitation of yaw vibration. SOLUTION: For achieving the purpose, this problem solving means is the vibration damping device 1 for the railroad vehicle having a front side actuator Af interposed between a front side bogie Tf and a vehicle body B of the railroad vehicle, a rear side actuator Ar interposed between a rear side bogie Tr and the vehicle body B of the railroad vehicle and a control device C for controlling both these actuators Af and Ar. The control device C compares a control force command value Ff of the front side actuator Sf with a control force command value Af of the rear side actuator Ar, and corrects the control force command values Ff(Fr) having a large absolute value from a comparison by a correction value β of multiplying yaw angular velocity ω around the center G of the vehicle body B by gain K.
