The invention relates to a coffee maker (1) comprising: a brewing chamber with an inlet for hot water, supplied by a pump, a coffee pad holder (2) and a restricted outlet opening (7) such that when hot water (H) is pumped from the inlet through a coffee pad (3) arranged in the pad holder, a jet of coffee is generated by the restricted outlet opening; a main reservoir (8) arranged below the outlet opening of the brewing chamber; and a secondary reservoir (10) arranged in the main reservoir in line with the outlet opening of the brewing chamber, wherein the secondary reservoir has an opening at the top to receive the jet of coffee from the outlet opening.
