The shaft assembly (1) has a wave element (2) that whose connection section (6) is coupled with end section (7) of wave element (4) by a clutch element (5) such that a rotational torque is transferable between the wave elements. The wave element (2) is displaced more than the wave element (4) along axial direction during torque transmission. The clutch element is positioned with respect to the wave elements by a centering device.
