PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water spray system for a tunnel which is capable of performing advance-notice water discharge by a simple structure of equipment and at a low cost. SOLUTION: A plurality of water spray heads 12 for discharging water are set in respective water discharge sections inside a tunnel, and an automatic valve 30 set in each water discharge section is remote-controlled to be opened to feed pressurized fire-extinguishing water to the water spray head 12 side. The water spray system for a tunnel also includes an advance-notice water discharge head 16 corresponding to each water spray head 12, for discharging a small volume of water as advance-notice water discharge on receiving the pressurized fire-extinguishing water fed based on the opening operation of the automatic valve 30. The water spray head 12 has a delay opening valve 18. When the automatic valve 30 is opened, the advance-notice water discharge from the advance-notice water discharge head 16 is started first, and after the elapse of a prescribed delay time, the delay opening valve 18 is opened to start the main water discharge from the water spray head 12.
