In order to provided a contact switching device that produces minimal hitting sound when released, a contact switching device is configured in such a manner that by attracting a movable iron core (42), which is provided on one end of a movable shaft (45), to a fixed iron core (38), on the basis of the excitation and demagnetization of an electromagnet part (50), the movable shaft (45) is moved in a reciprocating motion in the axial direction, and a movable contact (48a) of the movable contact piece (48) positioned on the other end of the movable shaft (45) is made to approach and move away from the fixed point (33a). In particular, when released, the annular collar (45a) provided to the intermediate part of the movable shaft (45) is made to come into contact with the annular receiving part (35c) of the magnet holder (37), regulating the position of the movable iron core (42).
