A hinge comprises a pair of pivotally coupled members one at least of which carries a bolt for securing the hinge to one of the parts to be hinged together, and said bolt, which is screwthreaded with a thread pitch not exceeding 1À5 m.m., is screwed either into said part or into said member for axial adjustment of the bolt. As shown in Fig. 1, the upper member 1 of a take-off hinge carries a bolt 2 which passes into a window A at an inclination to the plane of the latter and has a screw-thread end 3 of reduced diameter. The lower hinge member carries a bolt 4 secured to the fixed frame by a transverse pin 7. In a modification the bolt has an intermediate screw-threaded portion of greater diameter. As shown in Fig. 8, the bolt carried by the upper hinge member has a screwthreaded end of the same diameter as the remainder of the bolt, and a bolt 10, which is welded to a metal hinged part, screws into the lower hinge member 11 and is secured in position by a grub screw 13. In a modification the hinge pin screws into the lower hinge member and constitutes the grub screw. The hinge pin may alternatively constitute one element of a bayonet joint, the other element being constituted by the upper hinge member. |
