<p>The method involves determining existence of over-exposure by verifying whether a color value of primary colors e.g. green, is equal to, large or over exceeds a pre-determined maximum value. A non-exposed image point that is adjacent to over-exposed image point is derived, and corrected primary color values for an over-exposed image point are calculated from primary color values of the non over-exposed image point, where the over-exposed image point comprises over-exposed pixels (30, 34). Over-exposure correction is limited, when the over-exposed image point lies within a target color range. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program with instructions for correcting over-exposure of the target color in the digital color image (2) a configuration program for programmable logic components for correcting over-exposure of the target color in the digital color image (3) a data carrier for correcting over-exposure of the target color in the digital color image (4) a digital camera for receiving digital color image.</p> |
