The present invention relates to antifoam agents. We describe an antifoaming agent comprising a carbon dioxide or organic solvent extract of a beer or brewing related material, such as at least one material selected from hops, yeast, rice and brewing-related cereals such as barley, wheat, millet, spelt and oats. Preferably, the agent further comprises an extract of hops comprising a mixture of lipids, waxes and hard resins obtainable by removing essential oils from a solvent extract of hops.
