摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system and an image display device equipped with it capable of improving heat dissipation performance with structural strength maintained, restraining brightness unevenness caused by uneven distribution of heat, and aiming at thinning of the system.SOLUTION: A thermally conductive member 6 has a light source retention part with a face opposed to a light-incident face and a plate-shaped part with a face opposed to a light irradiation face as well as a face opposed to a heat dissipation member 5 formed in adjacency. The light source retention part has light sources 7 arranged toward the light-incident face on a face opposed to the light-incident face, a face of the plate-shaped part opposed to the heat dissipation member 5 is in contact with a face of the heat dissipation member 5 opposed to a light guide member, and a gravity center of the plate-shaped part is slanted along a direction in parallel with both the light-incident face and the light irradiation face.
