<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control electrical appliances such as VTRs and television receivers or to record useful information without requiring a user to store information once. <P>SOLUTION: Radio waves sent from an antenna 12 of a broadcast station are captured by an antenna 11 of a television receiver 9. The television receiver 9 extracts EPG from radio waves captured by the antenna 11, and transmits it to a remote controller 1 by an infrared transceiver 10. The remote controller 1 displays the received EPG on the LCD, and goes into a state of the selection of a predetermined program. After a predetermined program is selected, when a reservation button is operated, the remote controller 1 transmits a control command with respect to a video tape recorder 13 for recording reservation.
