<p>The invention relates to a method of repairing coating of a pipe (10), the pipe (10) comprising a pipe frame (31) and a polymeric coat (32; 42) around the pipe frame (31) and the polymeric coat (32; 42) comprising a damaged area (11A; 11B) to be repaired. The method comprises preparing the pipe (10) for repair by removing coating around the damaged area of the polymeric coat (32; 42) for obtaining a repair zone (12A; 12B), heating the pipe (10) at the repair zone (12A; 12B) to a temperature above the melting temperature of the polymeric coat (32; 42), applying to the heated repair zone (12A; 12B) a adhesive polymer material (36; 46) covering the entire repair zone (12A; 12B) whereby the adhesive polymer material (36; 46) bonds to the pipe, and cooling the repair zone. According to the invention, the adhesive polymer material (36; 46) comprises ethylene homo- or copolymers containing at least 90 % by mole of ethylene units. Very high-quality and high-performance pipe repairs can be carried out using the method according to the invention.</p> |
