An opening of a container can be smoothly opened and closed with a lid body without being affected by a variation in temperature. A pressure-resistant container has a container body (1) having an opening (12) at one end (11) in an axial direction (A) of the container and having resistance to pressure which resistance is capable of receiving high-temperature, high-pressure fluid and has a lid body (2) advancing and receding relative to the opening (12) of the container body (1) to open and close the opening (12). The container body (1) is supported at left and right end sections in the axial direction (A) of the one end (11) with the axial direction (A) aligned with the horizontal direction. Each end section of the left and right of the one end (11) is supported by a first support means (3) that has a first linear guide (31) absorbing displacement in the direction (B) of the left and right of the one end.
